Michelle Layland, Designer
Michelle is an extremely accomplished building designer with specialist training and skills in interior. Her job is extremely varied. She takes client briefs, sketches concept drawings and works on construction detail. Michelle’s skills lie in perfecting the finest details and hence she drinks a lot of coffee.
“I really enjoy what I do. It’s very busy but never boring!”
She spends a lot of time liaising with clients, builders and consultants making sure every detail is just as it should be. Michelle is the one who ensures smooth and accurate communication through a project. She is responsible for the detailed design and documentation of several award-winning projects.
“I love the people I work with. It’s inspiring to work with a team that is so passionate about making the world a better place.
Since I’ve been at Passivhaus Design & Construct, I’ve learned a lot about construction principles and techniques. It has been very handy, since I’m currently renovating my own home!”
Michelle is a strong advocate of passive house design.
“I think health is important. We all want a healthy environment for our families and for ourselves. Passivhaus is the best way to build a house that ensures that.”
Michelle’s an active person, and when she’s not designing your dream home, or renovating her own, she is bushwalking, skiing, swimming or just jumping on the trampoline with her kids. When she does finally relax, she likes to cook and sit in front of the fire with good wine and good friends.
