Two ways to work with us: which will suit you best?

Design & construct

You have the land, now choose the house design that suits and Passivhaus Design & Construct will deliver it, ready to move in. We complete all documentation, including required permits and consent applications, and carry out in-depth energy modelling to get the best possible outcome for your home on your site.

Bring your own builder

Are you an owner builder or do you already have a builder on board? You can still access our outstanding designs. With this option, Passivhaus Design & Construct supplies a full set of architectural and interior drawings. We also carry out detailed energy modelling for your specific site and organise for independent, third-party Passivhaus certification. You appoint your project manager and builder of choice.

Do you have a builder in my location?

Passivhaus Design & Construct has extensive networks across Australia. Our network of building partners is steadily expanding. If we don’t already have a relationship with a builder in your location, there’s a good chance we can identify a trusted builder with the experience and attitude we value. Get in touch so we can discuss.

Great! I just want a couple of changes to the floor plan.

Passivhaus Design & Construct homes are such great value for money because the design is set. That’s how we can quickly move through final documentation stages, be confident of smooth progress through the consenting stage and most importantly, how our builders can accurately price the project, offering you the security of a fixed price.

While it’s not possible to make changes to the Passive House Design & Construct designs, you can talk to the same architects over at sister company Envirotecture about a custom home design. That can be very closely based on a Passive House Design & Construct plan.

Is this design suitable for my climate and block size?

Passivhaus Design & Construct designs have been carefully tested on multiple orientations across a wide range of Australian climates to ensure their suitability in a wide range of situations. The designs are created with a specific orientation to the street.

Neighbouring homes or structures, trees and topographical features have a big influence on the performance of an individual home. That’s why in-depth energy modelling is carried out at the first stage, focused on a specific design on an actual site. In the coldest Australian climates, upgrades to insulation and a shift to triple-glazing may be recommended.
